Todd Heimer Heads New Gamma Scientific
East Coast Office
Former NIST scientist to provide in-depth technical, applications and sales support for East Coast and European customers

San Diego, Calif., March 10, 2005 - Gamma Scientific, a leading manufacturer of precision light-measurement instruments, recently hired Todd Heimer, a seasoned National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) research scientist, to head up its new East Coast office, located in Malden, Massachusetts. His title is Director of East Coast Sales and Technical Support.

Heimer spent the past eight years at NIST, primarily as an Independent Research Scientist in NIST's photometry group. At NIST he was responsible for the development and construction of the laboratory's retroreflection-measurement facility. He also participated in NIST's infrared-imaging programs and research involving laser-based kinetic measurements on a new class of solar cells. Heimer holds a PhD in physical chemistry from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

"Our customers in this region will appreciate having a senior technical specialist closer to their time zone," said Richard Austin, president of Gamma Scientific. "Gamma Scientific's success is closely tied with providing customers with access to live applications engineers who can provide fast answers to their questions, and fast response to solving their project needs."

"I'm excited about joining the Gamma Scientific team," Heimer said. "I feel my extensive experience in retroreflection measurement - and photonics overall - is ideally suited to solving our customer's light-measurement challenges."
