Senior Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is responsible for direct sales, business development and management of sales staff and sales reps in the US and Europe. It includes working with engineering, Product Line Managers, marketing and customer service to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Sales Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals. The Sales Manager will be responsible for sales of all Gamma Scientific products, with the exception of the RoadVista product line.  The Sales Manager reports directly to the COO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage overall sales efforts. Manage sales team and sales reps in the US and Europe.
  • Train and mentor sales team. Set sales goal, define roles and territories. Establish training programs. Build an effective and efficient sales team. Assist sales team in direct sales efforts.
  • Participate in defining the product strategy and road map. Participate in developing the core positioning and messaging for the product.
  • Deliver a monthly bookings forecast and performance report. Establishes and monitors performance metrics; takes appropriate, timely corrective action to achieve operating plan and company objectives.
  • Work with Marketing to develop sales tools and collateral. Develop and implement sales training program for sales staff and worldwide distributors.
  • Work in partnership with company Product Line Managers, external Sales Reps and Distributors to ensure success.
  • Assist with trade show preparation and participation.
  • Travel as needed to support sales efforts and to develop key accounts.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales management. 10+ years of direct sales and business development experience with progressively higher levels of responsibility.

Engineering Manager

This position is for a hands on Senior Engineering Manager to manage Gamma Scientifics’ Engineering Team. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leadership and daily management of the Engineering team. As Gamma Scientific is a small fast growing company, the Engineering Manager is also expected to be a direct contributor towards product development efforts. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a team consisting of Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Systems and Software engineers. Provide day to day supervision and work scheduling. Manage projects and oversee projects being managed by senior engineers. Maintain and build engineering team to support the growth of the business.
  • Manage all aspects of new product development. Products may include systems requiring electrical, mechanical, optical design, control and user software.
  • Help evaluate potential custom design projects. Manage custom development projects.
  • Manage new product introductions and sustain engineering and general engineering support.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineering team. Directly contribute technically towards product development efforts.
  • Develop channels for using outside resources to design new products. Manage product development projects using outside engineering resources, including resources overseas.
  • Interface with customers as required. Attend tradeshows and industrial conferences as appropriate.
  • Hire, train, supervise and review employees.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Engineering Manager or equivalent. Demonstrated history of progressively increasing scope of responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a start-up or small fast growing business that involves the design and manufacture of scientific and test instruments.
  • Extensive experience developing integrated systems that require optics, software, electronics and mechanical design.
  • Working knowledge of Phase Product Development process.
  • Experienced in managing projects using outside engineering firms and also engineering firms abroad.
  • Graduate degree in an Engineering discipline, Physics or Optics.
  • Basic knowledge in the fundamentals of spectroradiometer, photometry and colorimetry desired.
  • General PC skills in Windows environment including MS Project, Excel, Word.
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision.

Education

  • Graduate degree in Physics, Optics, or Engineering.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to write reports, procedures and manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and technicians.

Product Line Manager

This position has overall responsibility for the development and growth of the Commercial Display and Lighting test equipment product line. This product line includes test systems for LEDs, Solid State Lighting and Flat Panel Displays. The primary responsibility is to grow sales and re-establish Gamma Scientific as a market leader for High Performance Light Measurement products for Commercial Display and Lighting applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business development and direct sales for Commercial Display Products. Seek out and develop key accounts and OEM opportunities. Aggressively grow sales in this segment.
  • Deliver a monthly bookings forecast and performance report. Establishes and monitors performance metrics; takes appropriate, timely corrective action to achieve operating plan and company objectives.
  • Develop product positioning, competitive analysis and detailed sales and marketing plans to successfully introduce products to the marketplace. Identify, evaluate and propose new market and application opportunities for Gamma Scientific’s Light Measurement products for the Commercial Display and Lighting market.
  • Compose and implement sales and marketing materials, sales training aids, sales tools, advertising and promotional ideas.
  • Perform market research in support of generating product requirements and specifications for current and future products.
  • Develop and manage trade shows and other promotional activities worldwide as needed to grow the Commercial Display Product line.
  • Manage the development of marketing communication tools (Application notes, Brochures, Direct mail, Company Website).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Engineering. MBA a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product line management or business development. 8+ years of direct sales and business development experience with progressively higher levels of responsibility.
  • Proven track record in growing sales of technical products.
  • Must have proven experience forecasting and achieving quarterly revenue goals.
  • Proven track record in increasing sales through Direct Sales, Marketing and Product positioning
  • Experience in Commercial Display, LED, or Light Measurement test equipment industry desired.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Calibration Laboratory Manager

This position is for a Laboratory Manager to manage Gamma Scientific’s Test and Calibration Lab, lab personnel and day to day operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of engineers and technicians. Provide daily supervision and work scheduling. Interact and assist customers as needed
  • Manage the Test and Calibration Lab as a business unit with responsibility for business development and P&L
  • Assist in performing testing, calibration and measurement functions. This may include testing, measurements and calibrations of lamps, photodetectors and spectroradiometers per established procedures and testing and measurement of displays, solid state lighting and glass samples for transmission and reflectance
  • Manage annual government and customer audits. Maintain NVLAP and other lab accreditation status. Manage new accreditation processes as required
  • Lead the Lab in improving efficiency, developing test methods and procedures for new products and developing an automated system for generating test reports
  • Ensure that lab equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Maintain laboratory NIST reference standards
  • Hire, train, supervise and review employees

Qualifications

  • Three to five years as a Laboratory Manager
  • Strong knowledge of college level Physics with emphasis on Optics or basic knowledge in the fundamentals of photometry and colorimetry
  • Basic ability in reading optical, electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Must understand test process and procedures for test development
  • Must know ESD safe work practices
  • PC skills in a Windows environment including Excel, Word, and NI LabView. Ability to program in Excel and Labview a plus
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision

Education

  • BS in Physics, Optics or Engineering. Graduate degree a plus
