The Model FM-100 Laser Radiometer is a microprocessor-based instrument capable of measuring the radiant energy of a variety of gas, diode, and dye Lasers. When coupled with an LR-7000-2 series photodetector, it can measure the integrated energy of a single pulse, or the energy in each pulse of a pulse string. Accomodating pulse rates to 700 pulses per second, pulse widths from 1 nanosecond to 30 millisecond, and an energy range from nanojoules to joules, the FM-100 provides versatility and accuracy in both laboratory and production environments.
The FM-100 Indicator Unit contains the charge-sensitive electronics, main power supply, detector high voltage supply, detector temperature control circuit, pulse detection and frequency/pulse count circuits, electronic calibration circuit, and RS-232 interface circuits.
The LR-7000-2S and LR-7000-2I detector heads contains a temperature-stabilized silicon or indium-galium-arsenide detector as a primary sensor and a secondary sensor that monitors the pulse shape. The pulse energy is converted to an electronic charge and then coupled to the FM-100 indicator unit via the SIGNAL connector. Simultaneously, the shape of the pulse can be monitored on an oscilloscope with the SCOPE connector. A reverse bias voltage that increases the speed of the pulse-monitoring sensor is provided by the indicator unit using the BIAS connector. |
